A little more than Half-baked

2010 has been such a surprising, but interesting year. When we began this year, we figured we would be living in Nashville, continuing on with the life we had started. We knew that there were obviously things that we would change, but little did we know how much things would change. Looking back over the past year, we have been blessed in so many ways. We moved to Memphis thinking that our purpose in being here was because our future child would be born here and we would adopt him. We found a church home at Great Oaks which was the first church we visited in Memphis. Ben has been able to preach one Wednesday night and has taught class a few times since we moved here. We have found out that there is a lot we were missing in a church home before and have been very blessed by Great Oaks. So that is one of the positives from moving to Memphis. We got our second gift in August when we found out that we were pregnant.

After having a miscarriage almost two years ago, I really struggled with believing that everything with this child was going to be okay. I should not have feared. For that year and a half in between, I had been praying that God would not allow us to get pregnant again unless the baby was healthy. So it should not surprise me in the least bit that God answered my prayers. So far everything with the pregnancy has been smooth and easy. I am currently at 24 weeks and our little girl is kicking like a karate kid and as far as they can see she is healthy and looks great! We are so blessed!

Another blessing that I have come to realize since we moved to Memphis is how fortunate we are to have such wonderful friends and family. One of my fears in moving here was that we would lose touch with all of our friends. I believe a lot of our friendships have gotten stronger. We have been able to see how loved we truly are and we also have realized how much we love those around us.

We have met some amazing people since we have been here. Some who are struggling with some of the same things we have been struggling with. I am thankful that God has placed these people the in our lives to help us get through the rough days.

Our daughter is a little more than halfway ready to be a part of this world and although we are ready at any moment to be back in Nashville, being in Memphis has had quite an impact on our lives. We can appreciate the things we have learned so far and hope that some of what we have learned, we can pass on to others and help make their lives better or easier.

I hope that God will use us as a blessing in the lives of those around us! We have definitely been blessed by those who love us!
